Simple Woman

The Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY- February 3rd

Outside my window... two boys playing since noon ( it is already 3:00) and some warmer weather, like in the 50's.... talk about heat wave.

I am thinking... I had better finish laundry and dig up some bulbs that are reproducing quicker than rabbits.... not to mention plant some dahlias for some wonderful color this August.

I am thankful for... the sun that has been around for a few days.

From the learning rooms... we are learning this week about Bjorn using his words instead of grunts and whines, and Odin is learning that leverage on a catapult is pretty cool!

From the kitchen... homemade turkey pot pie and maybe some bubbles ( we spilt the last of them this morning).

I am wearing... once again, the layered look... brown knit pants, brown tank, grey scoop knit, and a black cardigan, and last but never least, slippers

I am creating... a mustard yellow skirt, with an embroidered black sparrow and some cloth napkins ( red with some embroidered fun cherry print circles). That is this weeks project.

I am going... no where. staying home and loving it.

I am reading... the Urban Homestead: a guide to self sufficient living in the heart of the city and my yogurt makers instruction manual ( my birthday present).

I am hoping... to take a shower tonight and that Bryan gets home from Seattle soon (I need a break away)

I am hearing... Bjorn yelling "mommy, mommy downstairs... snacktime"

Around the house... are two boys playing their hearts out and particles of dust.

One of my favorite things... toaster oven. I am testing to see if we do not need a microwave. I would like to get that appliance out of the house.

A few plans for the rest of the week: Bjorn's Early Childhood services eval., a free Winter Hawks game Friday ( I won tickets- yippee!) and a brunch on Saturday.

Here is picture thought I am sharing...

Odin made me some pipe cleaner flowers this weekend (notice the circles on the bottom, those are the seeds that the flowers came from) super cute.
