Lemonade for sale

This weekend was one of festivities for most... but for my sweet O it was one of questions about having a lemonade stand. He asked me a good 10 times before I finally said "yes, yes, today is the day". It started with making the sign..... and ended with a large compromising of the amount to charge. He was very set on the idea of $3.00 a glass. I convinced him that more people have quarters around the house than $3 so a quarter would probably be best....
On a Sunday afternoon, we set out a table, the sign, a vase of daises and a pitcher of lemonade. That sweet boy sat for two hours, refilled the pitcher 3 times, and made $10 to go towards the purchase of a remote control helicopter ( the plan as of right now). not to bad for a Sunday success story... and a young business man at work.

A simple Lemonade Reicpe
(taken from the Famous Martha Website)

4 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice
2 cups sugar
3 1/2 cups water
Lemon peel strips, for garnish (optional)

In a medium saucepan, combine 2 cups lemon juice and the sugar. Bring to a boil, stirring, until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat, and let syrup cool. In a pitcher, stir together lemon syrup, remaining 2 cups lemon juice, and 3 1/2 cups water.
To serve, pour over ice, and garnish with lemon peel, if desired.

  1. Tif - that's great! Spencer is always wanting to sell lemonade. I'm thinking I should let him, but I'd have to find the right spot. We live on a busy, kinda country/highway road. Maybe out by my Mom's might be a good idea!
