face it!

I have been in a cleaning mode...as many of us this time of year...
I found some organic cotton skeins of yarn and decided to make washcloths yesterday.
What goes well with washcloths, but a facial!
so I made a refreshing facial cleanser with carrots, honey & water.
(when some drips on your shirt-
you can lick it off with no worries!)
Both the recipe and pattern I found in June/July 2009 of MaryJane'sFarm magazine.
This magazine is amazing.... I get them from my mom when she is done with them (she promises a subscription.... hint. hint. mom!) I dissect these magazines like crazy! I love them.

Pattern for the washcloths (EASY!!!!)
size 7 needles
1 skein of %100 cotton yarn
(makes a 7x9 cloth)

cast on 35 stitches.
knit all rows to 50 rows.
cast off and weave in loose ends.

recipe for facial mask (carrot healing mask)
peel 3 carrots and steam until soft.
Mash the carrots to a fine paste and add 2 Tbs. of honey.
For a smoother texture add a small amount of water.
for dry skin- add 2 Tbs. olive oil.
for oily skin- add 1 tsp. of fresh lemon juice.

Simply wash your face with warm water and pat dry. Apply mask to area and let sit for 15 minutes. Rinse and pat dry.
