Pizza Sunday

I get asked often for my pizza recipe....
I dont know why, but I do.....
In my life there is nothing better than homemade pizza dough.
So Larissa, and friends, this post is for you!

Pizza Dough ( makes two pizzas- or one REALLY GIANT one)

blend together:: 1 cup white(unbleached) flour, 2 cups whole wheat flour, 2 1/4 tsp yeast (or one packet), a 1/4 tsp chopped fresh rosemary, 1 clove minced garlic, 1 tsp. salt, 1 Tbsp. sugar.

in a small bowl:: blend together 2 Tbsp. olive oil and 1 cup warm water.

Pour oil blend in with the dry ingredients:: mix and knead for 10 minutes.
Place dough into an oiled bowl and allow to rest for 1 hour.
divide into two balls and allow to rest another 10-20 minutes.

Dough is ready to be flattened and topped.
Bake at 400 degrees for 15-18 minutes.

secrets to toppings:: keep the sauce thin. then use a small amount of motz. cheese (and Parmesan) then top with veggies or meats. Add more cheese, and this will help in the toppings to stay in place.

Topping ideas:: BBQ'd chicken with chopped green onions. Sauté mushrooms, onions and peppers (this is a popular one with company). Ricotta cheese with chopped tomato and basil leaves (really awesome!!)... and, of course, the old fashioned stand by Pepperoni.
