We have a cherry tree... that is old, and..... awesome!
I love cherries.
I have my home decorated with them( hubby says they have to stay in the kitchen, but there is creeping cherries in the living room and bathroom).
The funny story about this tree is when we moved here~ the only cherries I had ever known about were dark, deep red ones (Bing Cherries). We never knew about the "Queen Anne" type that are blush and yellow.... sweet, firm delicious!
every year.... we'd wait.... and wait....
Robins would flock the tree.....
and on the perfect day of ripeness~ there would be 20 (or more) enjoying the fruits of MY tree.
Three years ago.... I caught on.....
thanks to our farmers market (and seeing, first hand, the beautiful queen anne cherry). Imagine my surprise to think that my cherry tree has been feeding all the wild birds for years.....
Well, this year..... no birds.....
but an A-frame ladder and a few climbing feet.....
and we got ourselves some cherries!
oh sweet yummy cherries. You are ALL mine! ALL MINE!
I wish I could come over and have some of those cherries!! They are SO expensive at the store.
