my favorite spot to look out

you will find me upstairs staring out my windows.

not the front windows watching cars drive by,

but my back windows....

look out at the ending season.

the sunflowers are all blooming with big bold faces.
the zinnias are standing tall.
tomatoes are starting to blush.
plants are beginning to say they are done for the season.
It is a little early to call it quits and wait for autumn,
but these plants have been going full speed since early spring.
We are still green.
We are still going.
but I can start to see...
that they are getting tired.
