with reckless abandon

many of you know- we have a musical child in the home. one that began a rat~tat~tat on a drum at 9 months, that can label each instrument throughout an orchestra by octave and can hear something on the piano and begin to play a general rendition " a mimic" in the same octave as well as some of the same notes and tempo (and he is only three!). He has gone through many guitars and drum sets to this day- and we will go through many more before he is 10. As an infant he found comfort and rest in "happy birthday", and when he could not speak he'd hum any tune. His favorite bands are Weezer, The Shins, and the Band of Horses with Bare Naked Ladies close behind.

He spends 80% of his day surrounded by music ( listening, playing, singing etc.).... and he is a joy!

so this post is for Bjorn..... may you always do music with a reckless abandon, may your music be heard!

  3. Hi Tif ~ I was catching up on Shannon's blog and found a link to yours. Amazing gift that Bjorn has, and I like the idea of the Simple Woman's Day Book. I may have to borrow that on my blog someday. I'm not too good at keeping up with it.

Happy Belated Birthday - I will check back again sometime to see what you are creating!
